Why CSCS cards are easy to let slip

CSCS cards are valid for 5 years, which sounds long until you have twenty subcontractors cycling through with cards expiring at different times throughout the year. There is no central alert system. The card holder gets a renewal reminder from CSCS, but you - the contractor who depends on that card being valid - hear nothing.
